Is it legal to live in an RV in the US?
According to the law, it is perfectly legal to park and live in your camper on your land. It becomes illegal, however, if you are planning to live in your RV full-time. Even if the land is yours, certain laws prohibit you from using your camper as a permanent home. In Canada, campgrounds are the only places where you can legally park your RV for the night.
Can I buy an RV in USA and bring it to Canada?
You must pay taxes and/or duties when applicable to bring your vehicle through Canadian customs. Your vehicle must be clear of any recalls. It must then pass an inspection by the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) in Canada before it can be officially considered imported. Goods must be in your possession and reported at time of entry to Canada. If the value of the goods you are bringing back exceeds CAN$800, duties and taxes are applicable only on amount of the imported goods that exceeds CAN$800.
Do you need a license for a trailer in Canada?
In Canada, trailers are subject to vehicle registration and licensing regulations, similar to other motor vehicles. Take your trailer to an authorized inspection center. Most Canada Tire location are authorized centers. Once you pass, you’ll be mailed a Canadian Clearance sticker and be able to get it licensed in your state or province.
